Following a competitive bidding process involving five African countries, the FANUS Executive Council officially confirmed the Nutrition Society of South Africa (NSSA)’s successful bid to serve as hosts. The NSSA proposal was recognised for its innovative focus on sustainability, strong venue infrastructure, and alignment with the vision and mission of FANUS to strengthen nutrition across the African continent.
Hosting the FANUS Conference is a significant milestone for NSSA and for South Africa’s nutrition community. The conference will provide an important platform to showcase African-led nutrition research, foster collaboration among scientists, practitioners, policymakers and industry partners, and advance solutions to the continent’s most pressing nutrition challenges.
NSSA looks forward to working closely with FANUS and stakeholders across Africa and globally to deliver a memorable and impactful conference in 2027. Further details regarding the conference theme, dates and venue will be shared in due course.
