For the first time, the International Congress on Obesity (ICO) will be held in Mexico City, in collaboration with the Society of Mexican Obesity (SMO), a proud member of the World Obesity Federation. ICO 2026 will bring together a truly international community of researchers, clinicians, policymakers, healthcare professionals and advocates, all committed to advancing obesity research, prevention and treatment worldwide.
The Congress programme will feature a rich mix of oral and poster presentations, a dynamic exhibition, and sessions that showcase the innovation, collaboration and diversity shaping progress in obesity science and policy. Across four stages, the scientific programme will explore three core ICO tracks: Clinical, Basic Science and Public Health.
Abstract submissions are now open. Researchers are invited to submit oral or poster abstracts presenting their latest work in obesity research. Be sure to review the full list of abstract topics and submission guidelines before submitting. The abstract submission deadline is 16 February 2026 at 23:59 (CET).
In addition, four prestigious ICO 2026 awards will recognise outstanding achievements within the global obesity community.
