The 14th International Food Data Conference (IFDC) will take place at FAO Headquarters in Rome, Italy, from 1st to 3rd September 2025.
Organised by the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), this 3-day conference brings together the International Network of Food Data Systems (INFOODS), a global network of food composition experts dedicated to improving the quality, availability, reliability, and use of food composition data.
The IFDC offers a unique opportunity for the scientific and technical community to gather and focus on the production, management and utilisation of food composition data. It serves as a platform to explore advancements in food composition databases, analytical methods and tools, as well as to share ongoing activities and success stories with fellow experts.
The main aim of the event is to facilitate dialogue among technical experts to address critical aspects of food composition data in the context of sustainable healthy diets and agrifood systems transformation.
Approximately 150 delegates from around the world are expected to attend, including students, food scientists and researches from the public sector, academia, research organisations, scientific associations, industry and international agencies.
The 14th IFDC will focus on the theme : “Food Composition databases – applications for healthy diets and sustainable agrifood systems transformation.”
The programme sub-themes include:

- Data methodology and dissemination
- New databases and approaches
- New nutrient/compositional data
- Analytical methods and compliance
- Biodiversity and food composition
