The 2025 edition of the State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World (SOFI) report has just been released.
It highlights that global hunger remains above pre-COVID levels, and progress toward ending malnutrition by 2030 is lagging. Rising food prices continue to make healthy diets out of reach for vulnerable populations.
The report calls for coordinated fiscal and trade policies, improved data systems, and greater investment in resilient agrifood systems to stabilize markets and support those most at risk. Without urgent action, global goals to end hunger and malnutrition may fall short.
