The 6th FANUS Conference will take place from 18–21 October 2027 in Cape Town, South Africa, bringing together leading nutrition professionals and researchers, policymakers, public and private sector stakeholders, development partners and civil society.
Under the theme “Nutrition for a Resilient and Sustainable Africa: Policy, Science and Practice in a Changing Food Environment,” the conference will examine the complex and interconnected nutrition challenges facing the African continent. Africa continues to experience persistent undernutrition while simultaneously facing rapidly increasing obesity and non-communicable diseases, alongside the effects of economic pressures, climate change, conflict, changing food environments and the growing influence of the food industry and digital technologies.
The conference aims to move beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries and foster transdisciplinary dialogue, collaboration and innovation. It will provide a platform for African and international experts to share research, knowledge and practical experiences, with a focus on developing evidence-based solutions that are realistic, sustainable and responsive to African contexts.
A central focus of the conference is strengthening African leadership, local knowledge and scientific excellence, while building strategic partnerships to support meaningful and sustainable improvements in nutrition across the continent.
As FANUS is an Adhering Body of the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS), the conference sponsorship and exhibition programme is guided by the IUNS Principles of Engagement Policy and its recommendations regarding private-sector sponsorship. Prospective sponsors and exhibitors will therefore be carefully reviewed to ensure alignment with these principles and to protect the independence and integrity of the scientific programme.
Sponsorship and exhibition opportunities are now open. Organisations that share the conference’s commitment to advancing nutrition science, healthier and more sustainable diets, and high-quality research are invited to explore opportunities to partner with FANUS 2027.
